A triangle has two sides with lengths of 60 and 120. The angle separating these sides is 60°. Which of the following statements is true?

Correct Answer: A. The area of the triangle is greater than 3000
This problem is solved through drawing a picture. We know the angle separating these two sides, and upon drawing it, it is recognized that the triangle is a 30-60-90 triangle, with side lengths of 60, 120, and 60√3. Thus, the height is 60√3, the base is 60, and the hypotenuse is 120. Using the formula for area of a triangle, we see that (60*60√3)/2 should be greater than 3000.
